Hello Cascade U12 Families, we hope you are all doing well.  We look forward to working with your players again as soon as possible!
We wanted to give you an update on the refunds we will be issuing via check with in the next few weeks. 
IMPORTANT: Please note you must click on the link at the bottom of this message to confirm address before you will receive a refund.

The staff was able to secure refunds on unused practice space, cancelled tournament fees, and travel hotel costs (including coach & chaperone costs). The per player amount of refund comes out to $500.00.

Unfortunately, the rest of dues cover fixed-cost expenses including uniforms, equipment, coaches, admin & staff, ref & coach training, tryouts, insurance, taxes, membership fees, and more.

This is an unprecedented time and the Board is taking steps to assure our non-profit club can survive. We rely on clinics and summer programs to contribute necessary operating expenses and it’s not clear yet when we’ll be able to resume these activities. Luckily, we've built up a reserve to sustain us in case of emergency, so we are confident we will be ready to resume normal operations once it is safe to do so.

We could have used our reserves to enable a larger refund, but given the uncertainty of the environment the Board felt it necessary to err on the safe side. That said, the Board voted to allow families access to that additional amount upon request -- just let us know if that is what you want and we will refund the additional amount.
We thank you for your support and hope you and your families remain safe and healthy.

This week's focus is on standing float serves for both indoor and outdoor players. 
The first two videos will walk you through the fundamentals. It is always good to refresh your memory on the basics. They also include tips and tricks to improve your serve.
The third, is a video that contains a few exercises you can be doing in order to gain, maintain, and improve your shoulder muscles that aid in the serving process. Please note, an exercise band is needed to particpate in the shoulder excercises.

Hello Cascade Family,
We are back again this week with more virtual content. We hope you found last week's vidoes useful!
Jumping high is always a good thing, but the vertical isn't what's important. It's how to jump with force within a limited area - jumping and landing in about a 5'x5' box (sometimes smaller).  
Next, landing properly is just as important as the jump. We want you to be healthy and pain-free your entire volleyball years and beyond
Full-body volleyball workout:
Physically, ball control determines your success as a setter. The best part is, all you really need is a room, a wall, and a ball (and your parents permission).  You can even do these drills laying in bed watching Netflix
Note on the video: in the first exercise, try to focus on using wrists only to send the ball up, not elbows.
Tip: put a piece of tape on your wall at net height - 7'4½" or 7' for U12 and younger

USAV- SafeSport Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP):

Cascade Volleyball Club is committed to the safety of all participants and adheres to the required Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) https://www.teamusa.org/usa-volleyball/about-us/safesport/maapp set forth by USA Volleyball and the Puget Sound Region. Policies include:

  1. One-on-One Interactions, including meetings and individual training sessions (Covered Organizations/LAOs are required to establish reasonable procedures to limit one-on-one interactions, as set forth in federal law).
  2. Massages and rubdowns/athletic training modalities.
  3. Locker rooms and changing areas.
  4. Social media and electronic communications.
  5. Local travel.
  6. Team travel.
