Change Team:
Please vote for PSR Board of Directors
by posted 05/26/2020

Hello Cascade Families!  We cannot wait to see you on the court again - we are working on plans for this summer should we be able to start offering options - please stay tuned!

You all should have received a link from Bart Foley    to vote for the PSR Board of Directors.  Everyone has put together bios and we encourage you to read them and vote. (If you did not receive the link - check junk mail).

Cascade supports Paula Littlewood (bio below) - who is central to the Seattle area and is a great supporter of not only Cascade but of volleyball in the region. We feel she would bring a great perspective.

You will vote for two candidates,  I also know several of the other candidates so you may feel free to email with questions and I would be happy to share with you what I know about their background.

Please email cascadevolleyball@gmail.com with any questions.

Either way - please vote!

Julie and Tina

Paula C. Littlewood

I am excited to submit my application as a candidate for the PSR Board of Directors.  I have played volleyball for over 40 years (including middle school, high school, and college) and have been coaching for the last five years (Seattle Parks & Rec volleyball league for middle schoolers as well as Seattle Public Schools middle school and high school level coaching (head coach)).  Like everyone involved with the PSR Board, I am passionate about the game for many reasons.  My professional background combines a variety of skills including professional fundraising, public and government relations, finance and budgeting, and I am a licensed attorney.  For 16 years I was the CEO of the lawyer regulatory body in Washington state; prior to that tenure I served as an Assistant Dean at the University of Washington School of Law.  Currently I am serving as the interim CEO at Seattle Humane Society.  I have served on many nonprofit boards locally and nationally and have worked for the past thirty years in the nonprofit and government arena.  I hope my experience will bring a combination of skills and insights to the work of the PSR Board and the sport generally in our region.

Refund Information - Please Read
by posted 05/21/2020

Hello Cascade U14 Families, we hope you are all doing well.  We look forward to working with your players again as soon as possible!  We are still working on summer plans and hope to offer some options - please stay tuned!
We wanted to give you an update on the refunds we will be issuing via check within the next few weeks. Unfortunately the Region was forced to cancel all tournaments.  We will be receiving further guidance from the Region with in the next week.  USAV, however has put in place approval for clubs to begin offering opportunities with some strict guidelines.  WA State directives supersede USAV so we will continue following WA State directives, but be prepared to begin when able by following the USAV Guidelines,. PSR Directives AND any other requirements put in place by the Cascade Board.
IMPORTANT: Please note you must click on the link at the bottom of this message to confirm address before you will receive a refund.

The staff was able to secure refunds on unused practice space, cancelled tournament fees, and travel hotel costs (including coach & chaperone costs). The per player amount of refund comes out to $500.00.

Unfortunately, the rest of dues cover fixed-cost expenses including uniforms, equipment, coaches, admin & staff, ref & coach training, tryouts, insurance, taxes, membership fees, and more.

This is an unprecedented time and the Board is taking steps to assure our non-profit club can survive. We rely on clinics and summer programs to contribute necessary operating expenses and it’s not clear yet when we’ll be able to resume these activities. Luckily, we've built up a reserve to sustain us in case of emergency, so we are confident we will be ready to resume normal operations once it is safe to do so.

We could have used our reserves to enable a larger refund, but given the uncertainty of the environment the Board felt it necessary to err on the safe side. That said, the Board voted to allow families access to that additional amount upon request -- just let us know if that is what you want and we will refund the additional amount.
Alternately - if you are able to contribute to help reduce the impact on our reserves, we appreciate those of you that choose not to receive a refund.  No action is required if you do not want to receive any level of refund - if we do not receive the ADDRESS CONFIRMATION form from you, we will keep the money and put it toward our reserves and please know that we greatly appreciate this.
We thank you for your support and hope you and your families remain safe and healthy.
